This web site is a collection of legends, stories, Articles and photos of Ghosts, Hauntings, Haunted Places and Supernatural Activity in the Morehead Kentucky and Surrounding areas of Rowan County Ky. Many believe that several elements contribute to the paranormal experiences that many people have encountered in the Morehead, Rowan County Area. I can name two of three of these events from the top of my head without any research. The Rowan County War is the first event that comes to mind. The Rowan County War took place when Rowan County was fairly young. Many people died horrible deaths during the time of Rowan County War. The Rowan County War came to an end within the city limits of Morehead Kentucky. Bloody Rowan was the name given to the county by the press during the dark and bloody days of the Rowan County War. The second event that comes to mind is The Great Flood of 1939 when many drown. This flood swept through Morehead and Rowan County as well as other parts of Kentucky. There is no doubt that many Rowan Countians lost their lives during this flood. The third event that comes to mind is the relocation of cemeteries during the construction of Cave Run Lake. It has been rumored that in some cases, only the head stones were moved. I don't know if there is any truth to this rumor but if you talk to the old folks............ Many more tragic events have taken place in the Morehead, Rowan County Ky area. To name them one by one would take up an entire web site and would also be unethical in my opinion.

This site is updated at least monthly and we mainly reily on user input and contributions of stories, ghost photographs and their experiences with paranormal activity in the Morehead, Rowan County Kentucky Area. I am by no means a ghost expert. I collect these stories and photos as a hobby. I don't make any money here and don't claim to be an expert on supernatural activity. There are links to other web sites here for those who are serious about learning about the paranormal, ghosts, ghostly activity, haunted houses and types of spirits and ghosts. This web site is only a collection of stories and experiences within Morehead and Rowan County Ky and nearby areas.
I have been contacted by some Rowan County Seniors who have heard of this site but don't have internet access. They have stories of things that they have experienced in here in the Morehead, Rowan County Area and want their story told. I will be out personally interviewing these people. A tape recorder seems to be the best way to capture the whole story. As you may know, it can be a long slow process translating a tape recording into text in a way that tells the whole story while trying to preserve the persons account accurately. For this reason, it may take a few months to get the stories posted here. Please be patient. These stories will be published here as fast as I can work them into a very busy schedule.
