Experiences with the paranormal in Clearfield Kentucky (Rowan County, Ky)
My interest in the paranormal spawned when I was only a baby.
I can recall vivid images of the ghosts that used enter thrue
the bedroom window, travel down the hallway and across the
living room to exit through the window in my brothers room on
the other end of our mobile home. We lived just over the
hill from a cemetery then.
AGE 3-4
One evening while I was playing, I saw a rather large being,
dressed in what looked like a white robe or sheet.
The being had a big blue head (size of a steel trash can lid)
and giant square teeth. I saw it's teeth quiet plainly as it
had an open mouth the size of a football. I came to refer to
this being as the false-face. To be honest about it, I still
don't know who or even what it was.
Please pardon my rough artwork.

What I saw didn't look this pleasant.
AGE 5-6
I lived with my mom and brother in a mobile home directly
behind my aunt's house. My cousin(s) and I used to play
there. One day I found an ouji board in the neighbors
rubbish. I took it to my aunt's house to play with.
Seems like an older cousin told me it was missing some
kind of part, maybe the pointer. To make a long story
short the board ended up in my aunt's coat closet.
Few days later, I had forgotten all about the ouiji board.
On a return visit to my aunt's house. I entered and closed
the door behind me. I noticed that the closet door was
opened slightly and closed it. Later my aunt noticed that
the front door was open and closed it. She also closed the
closet door and remarked "I don't know how these doors keep
getting open." That's when i remembered that the ouiji board
was in the closet. At that same moment i remembered my mom
saying to me "THAT'S A OUIJI BOARD! IT'S THE DEVIL!".
I immediately knew what to do. I jumped up and said "Ill fix it!",
grabbed the board out of the closet and tried to explain to
my aunt that the board (the devil - evilness) was causing
those doors to open. My aunt looked unconvinced as I headed
outside to chop the evil ouiji board up with a matic.
After chopping the board up, I burned it and buried it's remains.
AGE 7
My aunt sold her house and the land that our mobile home was
parked on to a rich rental / reality tycoon. We all moved into
her new house. She and my uncle lived upstairs. My family and
me lived downstairs. And guess what. The house was located just
up the hill from a cemetery. This is the place where a bigfoot
or something chased my brother into the house. The only things
I can remember happening to me was a ping pong ball rolling
across the floor toward me (by itself).
AGE 8-9
Mom buys a new mobile home and we move to a trailer park.
The trailer park was located just down the road from a
cemetery. My brother gets married and moves out. I really
don't remember anything strange happening there except
the time I heard a rather large person walking down the
hallway in what sounded like a pair of boots. The only
strange thing is there wasn't anyone large nor wearing
boots in there. Matter of fact Nobody was in the hallway.
AGE 9-10
We move our mobile home to our own land. Guess what. It
was now located right beside the cemetery. This is where
I would spend my teenage years.
I wouldn't stay in my bedroom with the door shut.
Sometimes felt like someone were watching me from behind.
That was a scary feeling. It was like there was this evilness
watching my every move and waiting for just the right moment
to grab me. Even with the lights on, I was still afraid of
the bedrooms. Maybe its because when I was 8 or 9 I heard
somebody walking through the hallway in a pair of big heavy
boots. Hearing things that aren't there has a way of scaring
people.
When I was 15 my cousin and me were in the cemetery one night
looking for ghosts. This is the only time that i convinced him
not to be scared. We both felt secure because we had my new
bb rifle with us. Needless to say, we forgot that we even had
the bb rifle when a white shadowy figure approached us from
behind a bush. I still remember how i leaped over a tombstone
while running backwards. I never saw the white figure again.
Ages 21 - Now
I married when I was 21 and the occurrences seemed to stop.
That is they stopped for me. My wife on the other hand,
she started seeing "Full Body Apparitions". Starting when
I was awaken and told that she had seen her grandmother
standing at the foot of our bed.
She continued to see "People that disappear" as she calls
them. These "disappearing people" ranged from deceased
relatives to people she didn't even know. This continued
more frequently after Mom bought a new place and we moved
into Mom's old place (by the cemetery).
Well we decided that we needed a bigger house. A couple of
our friends had made the same decision and we went in together
and rented a big 2 story house. We halved the house with them,
split the rent and utility bills.
Come to find out, this house was only about 100 foot or so from
a cemetery.
To be quite honest with you, I was always afraid in the house
and wouldn't go into certain parts of the house by myself.
Although I never experienced anything than the feeling of
a presence (as if somebody were constantly watching me),
everyone else in the house did.
I remember coming home and being told of someone walking
up and down the stairs and slamming a locked door.
I believe them because they had the ax from off the front
porch in the room where they were at. It's a shock when
you come home and your buddy greets you with an ax.
"What do you think your doing with that ax!?!", I ask him.
He began to tell me of the events of how he and the others
had heard somebody walking up and then down the stairs.
The others joined in and said, "We didn't see anyone, we
just heard stomping on the stairs, then the door opened
and slammed". I told them that I had locked the door, and
they agreed that the door was locked when it opened & slammed.
I believe them. I could see the fear in their eyes and the
shakiness about them.
Other things would happen in the house, but nothing to me
except for the intense feeling that somebody was watching me.
After spending the winter in the house, we all decided to
move away. My wife and I moved back to the old place and
our friends rented a smaller place.
This was the last year of my first marriage. I guess nine
years of seeing ghosts would make anyone want to move to
another state.
It was around the time of my separation that I started
studying ghosts, etc... on the internet.
I learned of orbs, mists, vortexes, partial and full
body apparitions and even more. I studied the dos and
dont's of "Ghost Hunting" and decided that with all the
things going on around me, I would do some research of
my own. (I had as a kid but now I'm serious about it)
To continue:
I lived alone most of the time. Sometimes I would stay
with Mom, sometimes with friends. Sometimes I would
work myself overtime and get only a few hours of sleep
before going back to work. I remained single for almost
eight years (if you don't count a few girl friends) and
then married a second time.
This second marriage was a shaky one and must have been
disturbing to our surroundings. Ghosts or something
would make itself known. We would hear rapping, moaning,
whispers, blurred talking, locked doors opening themselves
etc... Although I never saw anything, I could hear it.
I went on a "ghost hunt" with a friend of mine. We went
to this old house (about to fall in), that belongs to
his grandfather. It was there that I got some photos
full of orbs. These photos were full of orbs. One
of the photos had an image of a person looking through
a second story window, Impossible, The floor was gone
in that spot. I guess it was a ghost. I divorced about
a year afterwards.
I'm now in a third serious relationship. I'm planning
to get married some time this year. Although I have
experienced only two encounters (I'll get to them later),
my girl friend has many of them.
It's getting late now, so I will send the rest of my story
later. After all, It's a work in progress.
